A Small Company with Big Experience.
Robotics 1 is the brain child of Harold Bates, the Chief Technology Officer and founder of the company. Harold first got his hardware certification in 1996, his MCSE (Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer) certification in 2001, and was certified as a CISSP (Certified International Security Standards Professional) from 2005 to 2008. He is also a Certified SonicWall administrator, and is currently studying for a Cisco certification (CCNA) to be completed sometime in 2011.
Harold sold and serviced computers for a national electronics chain from 1996 to 2000. He then became the network administrator for a multi-state healthcare facility from 2000 to 2006. In 2005, Robotics 1 was founded, first as a part-time adventure, but then became a full-time business in 2006. The company primarily has clients in the Southern Tier of New York, and the Northern Tier of Pennsylvania, but there are a few further flung companies (one in Quebec, one in Arizona) that call on us from time to time.
The name for the company comes from a love of all the robot characters that appeared in movies and on TV from the early 1960s to the present. Just as those characters evolved from simple mechanical devices (remember B9 from Lost In Space) to almost-human androids (Mr. Data for instance), so is Robotics 1 continuing to evolve as technology changes.
